Broadcasting & Cable has named Ben Grossman editor. He will be overseeing both their print and digital editions. Heather Tom, Emmy award winning actress is having her annual Daytime for Planned Parenthood Party in LA on June 18. They are looking for goody bag items of various kinds....ideally 200 of each item. The Wall Street Journal Online is adding Journal Women, a new section which will be devoted to women in business. The section is devoted to professional and executive women, and the content will cover the topics of work, family and the intersection of the two. The new section will also feature, The Juggle, which is a blog on the tradeoffs of juggling work and family, as well as Front Lines, a daily news brief about women making headlines and other woman-related issues in the news of the day. The section will also offer community discussion boards, Q & As, videos and polls.  Carol Hymowitz will cover leadership issues and do an Online daily column, Above The Glass. Forbes.com has just announced plans to introduce Forbes.com Executive Women’s Network, with original editorial material specifically targeted towards women executives.

Jon Barrett has been named editor-in-chief of The Advocate and Advocate.com.  The advocate is an important news and entertainment destinations for the Lesbian and Gay communities. Talk Shows are all the rage in the coming seasons, with many shows  either in production, or trying for production status....for instance here are some of the names of prospective headliners.... Marie Osmond, Valerie Bertinelli, Patricia Heaton, Kristie Alley and others all trying to talk their way to the top.

The Bonnie Hunt Show, which will be a new talk show this fall from Bob & Alice Productions and paraMedia, in association with Telepictures, has named David Perler co-executive producer of the show along with Hunt, Jim Paratore and Don Lake. Perler had been a producer on the Tony Danza show, Rosie O’Donnel and the Ellen show.

Andrew Hoffman, has just been made executive producer of Market Hours at Fox Business News. In his new position he will be responsible for all coverage between 9AM and 4PM. He had been executive producer, daytime content.

At CNN Eli Flournoy,  supervising editor, is now director of International Newsource.

CBS News, The Early Show, has named Betsy Alexander a senior producer. She had been VP at iVillage.

The New York Times has named Daniel Chen, City Hall bureau chief.
